Guest Room Ideas That Will Have You Gushing

Decorating guest rooms for traveling visitors requires thoughtfulness, time, and dedication. Make the stay memorable and comfortable by having at least one unique thing your guests will remember. Ensure they feel so at home that they sing praises for the time they spent at your place.

Keep It Neutral

Colored walls and patterns are perfect for your other rooms in the house. However, when it comes to the guest room, you want to be as neutral as possible. Remember you are hosting different guests, each with their unique taste. Make your guest room a universal fit by using neutral colors.

What’s more, neutral colors never go out of style and offer a unique sense of serenity not provided by brightly colored walls. Besides, neutral colors create a layered look as they tend to enable the furniture and textures in a room to stand out.

That said, do not let your neutral-colored room get boring. Instead, throw in an embroidered pillow, sculpture, or wall painting.

Have a Theme

When decorating your guest room, do not go in blind. Start by selecting a theme that will be evident throughout the room. The theme should appeal to your visitors and tell them who you are.

Bunk beds save space while simultaneously reflecting on a nautical ship theme. That makes them perfect for the children’s guest room.

Consider a French Country Approach

The bottom line is that you want your guests to feel welcome and comfortable. The best guest room style to achieve this is French country. Let your room speak volumes about your sense of style and hospitality.

Convert the space into a reminiscent of lavender fields by taking advantage of ribbed wood details, warm white linen, and rustic décor. Plus, ensure the room gets adequate lighting so your guests can receive their daily dose of Vitamin D to start the day.

Remember to add a bedside rug. Nothing feels better than waking up and stepping right onto soft carpeting.

Make a Statement

Just because the guest room is rarely used does not mean it should be overwhelmed by an out-of-date design. Keep up with current trends by adding a signature headboard, wall painting, or inbuilt lighting. These items also help to create a unique and stylish aesthetic.

Introduce a Sitting Area

If you have the luxury of space, you can introduce a little seating area. It does not have to be much – a love seat and a small coffee table will do the trick. This way, your guest will have a place, besides the bed, to unwind. You can even add some books.

Twin Beds

Do not let limited space limit the number of guests you can host. You can never go wrong with twin beds with matching headboards and beddings. Embroidered coverlets give a traditional formal look, while gingham skirts have a playful touch.

Conclusion

Gone are the days when your visitors would sleep on the couch or a blow-up mattress in the living room. Make your guests feel at home by being thoughtful about what you put in the guest room. We hope these few ideas will go a long way in helping you design the perfect guest room.
